Getting ready to boot : Asus V3-P5G43 Barebone PC
Once you are satisfied with everything slide the metal panel back into position and close the two screws.
Finally put the case into vertical position ready to connect all the external devices.
On the back of the case you will see all the ports and connectors for various peripherals. Everything is color coded and has labels & signs for each device. This makes it easy for you to connect your external devices like keyboard, mouse, display, speakers etc.
Connect the main power cable, keyboard, mouse and display. On the back of the power supply unit you will see the main on/off switch. Switch in on. Turn your monitor on. Finally press the power button on the front of the case. If everything goes well the power LED will come on and system will start booting up. You will also hear noise from the PSU and CPU fan.
Keep an eye on your monitor screen as you should get a boot display. You will notice that the memory, hard drive and dvd-writer is detected. A message at the bottom will also show that a new cpu is installed. Press F2 to load default values.
Press the DEL key to enter BIOS setup.
From the BIOS you can see that all the hardware has been detected correctly. The hard drive is connected to SATA1 and the DVD-writer in connected to SATA2. Move down to System Information using the arrow keys.
You will notice that the CPU and the speed is detected correctly. The amount of memory installed is also detected correctly. Now go to the boot menu and choose DVD-writer as your first boot device. Save any changes you made by pressing F10. When the system restarts it will try to boot, but since we have no operating system installed you will get a boot error.
You have now finished building your barebone PC. The next step is to choose an operating system. To install Windows 7 you can follow this guide :
